This is the laws and ordinances of the battel of  Osaka in summer,1615.As for this, the existence was written down for the old record of the the Ii family.It was known to some researchers from old days, but it seemed that the original was lost.This is the original of the handwriting of Nobunari Okamoto who is a strategist of Ii force.It is very valuable.(Date: April 6, 1615)

In summer of 1582, Ieyasu fought against the armed forces of Ujimasa Hojou in Koshu Wakamiko.It was autumn, and a talk of peace was generated, and Naomasa Ii went to Hojo as an official messenger. And he concluded a peace conference. Naomasa who achieved a big mission was 22 years old then.This document is the important memo which he wrote down a condition of peace that he hid on apparel. It is the thing which is the oldest as the political document of the Naomasa handwriting.

This is the letter which proved that Naotsugu Ii which is the the second feudal lord of the Hikone feudal clan gives Mr.Miura land.(Afterwards,He changed a name from Naotsugu to Naokatsu.He became the first feudal lord of the Annaka feudal clan.Furthermore, he became the ancestors of a family of the the Iis of the Yoita feudal clan. )Miura became the aristocratic family chief vassal of the the Iis after this. 


This is the oldest laws and ordinances of the the Iis of Hikone.Sadahide Okubo of magistrate writes this, and Nakano, Saigo, Suzuki, three senior retainers sign it.This appeared in the historical records of the Hikone feudal clan, but it seemed that it  was lost.It is the oldest laws and ordinances by Naomasa Ii.(DATE:November 15, 1601)

Naooki Ii (who was the 5th feudal lord of the Ii family of Hikone) lost his father Naotoki when he was young., and he spent the lonely childhood period. It was Kimata Morinaga of the senior retainer who watched Naooki who was young with warm eyes from beginning to end, and continued backing up.Naooki continued loving Morinaga as father of the heart throughout the life.In the days of the obscurity,the Morinaga gave Naooki a young tree of "Mube". Morinaga said "this is a happy tree". Please raise this tree carefully so that a happy thing is generated to you in the future by all means." Naooki became a feudal lord of Hikone and became the chief minister of the Shogunate."Mube" grew up into a big tree in the meantime, too. Naooki wrote the last circumstances in this by himself and gave this letter to Morinaga when Naooki became 60 years old. It is a document understanding personality of Naooki and deep interchange with the vassal well.

Last letter of Naosuke Ii in his life
This is a letter of the long sentence of the last handwriting which Naosuke Ii wrote few days ago when he fell at Sakurada. This was written on February 25, 1860. An address is Masamichi Miura who was chief retainer in Hikone. It is the instructions document of the long sentence about the building of Edo-jo Castle. It is thick contents. It is custom the letter of Naosuke is extremely careful, and to be minute. However, this letter is unusually unprepared, and it is the one of the most difficulty readings in his document.A special blue writing paper is used. In addition, it is conveyed Naizen Miura's real name by mistake that "Saneyoshi"etc in some history books.However, it is not written down in the genealogy, and "Masamichi" is right.

The pseudonym  respected most that Naosuke used in his painting and calligraphic work  is "〓露軒(Juroken)".There is the least use of the pen name called "柳王舎(yagiwanoya)" in his manuscript remaining in.
                      

The figure of Hikone feudal clan conquering 'Tenchugumi'
Activity of Ii who sent troops to conquer Tenchugumi in 1863 is drawn. Ii corps appointed Nukina Chikugo (son of Nakaaki Ii) a commander-in-chief as substitution of feudal lord Naonori Ii.And Ii force was dispatched to the third person and conquered Tenchugumi. A state of a fight at that time is drawn on it.The Hikone feudal clan soldier who wore a red armor as is for the age of civil strife struggled. It was the last battle that was able to nominate military renown for the Ii family.
